Coaching Staff Biographies

Vicente Vega - CEO/08BR Coach

A Greeley native, Vicente played club soccer and 4 years of Varsity soccer at Northridge High School. As one of the original members of the Colorado Rapids Development Academy Teams he personally opened the door for other Northern Colorado players who would follow.

He played and Captained the Men's Soccer team at Adam's State University while earning his undergraduate degree.

He returned to Greeley, Colorado and was quickly hired as an officer for a nationwide bank while also continuing to play and coach. During this time he was approached by Lance Williams to take on a bigger role at FC Greeley.

Since becoming the Sporting Director of FC Greeley the club has seen tremendous growth under his influence. Vicente has also become a highly respected realestate salesman and young leader in the community. 

Vicente continues to play at high levels as the Captain for FC Greeley's Pro Dev Men's team.

 

ProDev Coach Joe Gillespie

Joe Gillespie has been with F.C. Colorado’s Pro Dev Men’s Team since the fall of 2018. Prior to his current position, he served as assistant coach for the women’s team at Concordia University of Nebraska while earning a master’s degree in Family Life Science. He also has collegiate coaching experience at Northern Michigan University, serving as the women’s assistant coach from 2007-2011 . During his time with the Wildcats, they earned two GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinal appearances and two GLIAC Semifinal appearances. 

From 2012-2015 Coach Joe served as the Boy’s Academy Director for the Gretna Soccer Club in Nebraska, where he oversaw teams in the U7-U10 age group and provided coaching education. He also has club coaching experience for the New York Red Bulls Youth Academy on Long Island, NY. Joe earned his first coaching license in 2010 and currently has a USSF “C” License as well as the Director of Coaching Diploma and Premier Diploma with the NSCAA.

“I am looking forward to starting the spring season because I enjoy seeing the players come together and bond as a group. I know adding new staff and new players is always challenging at first, but this is a great opportunity to help improve the level of soccer in Colorado and to be role models for the youth teams in the community.”

2018/19 Coach for 2001B Fernando Perez

FCG would like to welcome Fernando Perez on board to coach 01B. He as vast knowledge and experience in soccer. Included in that experience he was a varsity player from Northridge High School, graduating in 2012. He played two years at Larimer County Community College (LCCC) and two years at Montana State University Billings (MSUB). He holds his USSF D license and has coached youth teams at Billings United and assisted at (MSUB).
